To enhance security and safeguard users' personal information, the Board will introduce multifactor authentication for accessing eCase this spring. This will add an extra layer of protection by requiring additional verification beyond a username and password when logging in.

Multifactor authentication was added to OnBoard last year and is already required by New York State. The process for eCase will work the same way as OnBoard and will be similar to what you’ve seen in online banking or secure email logins—like receiving a text message with a code.

Every eCase user in your organization must have an individual account.  There will be no sharing of accounts.

Administrators should create separate accounts for any users currently sharing credentials.

For details on registering for eCase or understanding administrator responsibilities, visit the eCase Administrators section on the Board’s website.

Closer to launch, the Workers’ Compensation Board will send instructions on how to set up multifactor authentication through notification emails. Sign up at WCB Notifications if you have not already done so as the Board will send step-by-step setup instructions as implementation gets closer.
