LawyerLanding.com is not a law firm and we give no legal advice.

If I submit a case on LawyerLanding.com, does it get reported to the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. LawyerLanding.com is in no way affiliated with the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board. WE do not send any information to the Workers’ Compensation Board. Any communication with the Workers’ Compensation Board is your responsibility along with the attorney you retain.

Can you explain how your company works to help me find a workers’ compensation lawyer?

LawyerLanding.com does not recommend any particular lawyer. After you complete the questionnaire, our participating attorneys call you to discuss your case. You decide which attorney to select based on who you think best fits you.

Why do I have to fill out a questionnaire?

For a lawyer to call you, they need information about your case so they can decide if they want to contact you.

I’m not sure I want my name and personal information on your website. Why is that necessary?

That’s an excellent question. Your name and personal information are not visible on our website. Only participating attorneys who select your particular case are provided with your information so they can contact you directly.

Do I have to pay to use LawyerLanding.com to find a lawyer?

Injured workers never pay LawyerLanding.com. Our service to you is free.

Does the lawyer I choose pay you a part of the fee they get?

No. LawyerLanding.com is not a law firm; we do not get paid based on your case. Lawyers pay us out of their pocket for our services.

Is it true that I don’t have to pay a consultation fee to a lawyer who calls me to discuss my case?

Yes. It is true. Lawyers in workers’ compensation are not allowed to charge you a consultation fee.

What kind of retainer fee do I have to pay a lawyer who contacts me through LawyerLanding.com?

There is never a retainer fee for a workers’ compensation case, so the answer is “none.” If your lawyer gets you an award, the Judge decides on the fee and the lawyer can explain the fee structure to you. It has nothing to do with LawyerLanding.com.

What do I need to do after I get injured at work?

You should discuss the next steps with a lawyer who specializes in Workers’ Compensation Law. The consultation is free. By filling out the questionnaire, you allow us to introduce you to our participating attorneys. LawyerLanding.com is not a law firm, and we will not give you legal advice.

I don’t like my doctor. Can I change doctors?

If you are not represented by a lawyer, you can consult with a lawyer who specializes in Workers’ Compensation Law and ask about your rights and obligations. There will be no consultation fee. Once you fill out the questionnaire, we can introduce you to our participating attorneys.

If the injured worker dies as a result of his work accident or condition, does his family have a workers’ compensation claim even though he is deceased?

Death claims are compensable under the NY workers’ compensation law. A lawyer should be consulted to determine eligibility of dependents.
